What if you could taste the days of the week or see numbers in colors? This narrative picture book tells the story of creatures who experience the world in a completely different way: through synaesthesia. Each page opens up a new sensory world that is totally normal for some, but surprising and magical for others. The fluffy members of the Club of Synaesthetes invite you to imagine how differently people may perceive reality – tasting words, seeing music, or giving numbers their own personalities.

As a synaesthete myself, I’m endlessly curious about how other people perceive the world. (Seriously, how can you not see feelings in color?) I once studied medicine but realized scalpels weren’t my thing, so I switched to brushes and ink. Now I explore the brain’s wonders through art, illustrating in bold black and white with Japanese sumi ink, inspired by the elegance of East Asian calligraphy.
