The Story of Muk and Mot
The story Muk und der Klumpen (engl. „Muk and the Chunk“ or „The Story of Muk and Mot“) is about little Muk, a girl who grows up in a village called Krempe (engl. „Brim“). Brim seems like a normal village, but there is one special thing about it: each villager is born with a big walk-in hat. When they reach adulthood, each new adult must go on a journey to find a mate to move into their hat. The story accompanies Muk on her journey in her search for a creature that will accompany her for the rest of her life. Muk meets many exciting and unusual creatures and learns valuable lessons about homeliness and friendship. The text by Viktor Dallmann is illustrated by Marie Buschmann.

My name is Marie, and I am an Illustrator based in Berlin. Before studying communication design at the FHP, I studied extracurricular art education. The characters that populate my illustrations oscillate between cuteness and strangeness and try to offer an opportunity for identification. I like comforting stories that take place in slightly weird narrative environments.
