Milosz & Milad
Over the garden hedge, two neighbors meet, neighbors with a similar name and a similar mustache in their faces: Milosz & Milad. What starts as casual neighbor kindness becomes a friendship that deeply shapes both their lives. Together, they cook pear marmalade, go mushroom-hunting and share a Turkish coffee on the porch, pondering about life.

I may not have a mustache, but just like Milosz and Milad, the two protagonists in my story, my ideal Sunday is spent in my garden with friends, having breakfast, reading in the grass and losing all sense of time. Hello :) My name is Merle and I am a design student in Potsdam. With a pencil in my hand, I feel best equipped to capture my environment and process my impressions of it, whether that be writing, illustrating or scribbling. Until now, most of my work remained hidden in my sketchbook pages, so I was excited about the challenge of bringing my illustrations together in the form of a picture book. If I am not drawing something at the minute, you will probably find me cooking with my flatmates or swimming in the river.
