Irgendwo Dazwischen
In my book „Irgendwo dazwischen“ (Somewhere in Between), words populate the world like living beings. They whisper through libraries and dreams, fill entire rooms by singing loudly, run marathons without taking breaks, and love tapas and stew. They collide, lose each other, find each other again, and realize that sometimes a little, a little less, or just fine is perfectly enough. Between pauses, ping-pong echoes, and big “why” questions, a game of opposites emerges: courage and doubt, speed and calm, security and adventure.

Hi, I'm Mara. I really like the colour red, HB pencils, and fine lines. What I like most about picture books is discovering and exploring details. When I illustrate, it almost feels like I'm listening to a world that doesn't exist yet. It emerges before my inner eye from my experiences and the many Whys, Ors, and Buts within them.
