This children’s nonfiction book provides an insightful look at life in the hospital, with a particular focus on the experience of waiting. It introduces the various hospital staff, elucidates their roles, and portrays everyday situations that young patients may observe. Through concise, accessible language and a visually clear, pared-down illustration style, the book is designed to be easily understood by young readers. Its primary aim is to alleviate children’s anxiety about the hospital and gently familiarize them with what they may encounter. Employing humor and a recurring main character in a range of waiting scenarios, the story combines reassurance with engaging, relatable moments.

- a book aimed at very young children with a simple story with short sentences that can be read aloud without losing their interest
- it introduces the people and possible encounters children may have in a hospital, to help ease their fear of it
- it explores how time can pass and the various things that can happen along the way

My interests have always hovered somewhere between creativity and medicine, and I believe there is still a lot of potential in the field of medicine and science to educate children in a way that is not only factually high-quality but also visually engaging. I want to empower children by sharing valuable knowledge with
them, sparking their curiosity, and inspire them to explore, learn, and grow with confidence and resilience.
