TACTILE BOOKS
This Picture Book Jazz workshop week focused on tactile books. We developed experimental prototypes that can be discovered not only with the eyes, but that also offer a haptic experience. We worked in our spacious workshops for bookbinding, screen printing, and risography. Our investigations circled around the question of how to tell stories using a wide variety of materials. In addition to different types of paper, we also worked with textiles, metals, plastics, and much more. We were supported by Giuliana Riunno from Start Edizioni in Italy, an organization and small publishing house that specializes in tactile picture books and research. A selection of the books will be exhibited at the international children's book fair in Bologna in April 2026.
